Shoghaken Ensemble Trio

Hasmik Harutyunyan, Meritorious Artist of the RA, is a one of Armenia’s best known folk singers, and specializes in traditional Armenian songs and dances. She has performed in concerts around the world, presenting Armenian folk songs and dances. Hasmik is teaching Armenian singing for the Armenian Music Department at UCLA. Karine Hovhannisyan, Meritorious Artist of the RA, is a professor at the Komitas State Conservatory. She has performed with symphony orchestras in New York, Los Angeles, and the UAE, presenting works written for the Armenian kanon in the classical genre. Vardan Baghdasaryan, Meritorious Artist of the RA, is one of Armenia’s most sought-after kamancha players. He has performed in concert halls and festivals throughout Europe, the USA, Canada, Russia, and the Middle East. Vardan is an invited mentor teaching kamancha in the Armenian Music Department at UCLA.
